Comprehending 1 Kings From the OT.

so i played bible roulette for the first time in a LOOONG time - OT style. And the winner is ........ yep you guessed it, 1 Kings.

so here i am keeping the ball in their side of the court.
my take on chapters 1 & 2, here we go. *prays that i may comprehend*

so it started off pretty much saying how king David was sick and weak so this dude named Adonijah self named himself the king. the prophet nathan comes along and tells Bathsheba (Solomon's mom) to tell David to proclaim Solomon as king. meanwhile Adonijah is sacrifcing many tasty animals as to receive a blessing from an idol or the Lord himself. Later David anoints Solomon as king over israel and judah. Adonijah is afraid of Solomon now so he ditches. (end of chapter uno)

so now here we have good ol' David right before hes dead telling Solomon to obey God's will so he can prosper. so then look whos back, Adonijah of course. This time he is asking that Abishag (who looked after David before death) to marry him. Solomon swears to God that he should deal with Solomon very badly if his older bro desnt lose his life for this request. and Solomon is faithful to his words and kills Adonijah. Joab who conspired with Adonijah found out the boss was dead so he tried to run away from Solomon. but lol Solomon would not be denied. next thing you know, Joab is dead too lol. Solomon then tells Shumei that he will go live in Jeruselum and not cross the Kidron Valley ( dunno why, anyone know?) or else he'll die lol. so guess what shumei was in jeruselum and one of his slaves ran away. gee, gosh, golly guess what? shumei crossed the Kidron Valley to fetch his slaves and when Solomon heard shumei crossed the valley it'd be the third fatality in only two chapters. and it was. Solomon then was able to firmly establish his kingdom. theee end.


things to note about these two chapters is that the friends of God are protected by God and they're enemies are God's enemies. now you don't wanna pick a fight with an unbeatable boss right? so PREEETTY much its simply put like this? the people who belong to God cannot be touched by others. so its like a cast away your burdens thing also?
